Dental Implants Can Replace a Missing Tooth from Root to Crown

Dr. Ardeshir Raghian can both place and restore dental implants at our Winnetka, IL, office for streamlined treatment. Because they offer a wide array of functional and oral health benefits over other treatment options, dental implants are the ultimate solution for replacing missing teeth. In fact, they are the only treatment that actually halts and prevents bone loss. Dr. Raghian is a board-certified periodontist with the necessary skills and expertise to safely and successfully place dental implants. Additionally, we are currently offering a special: for as low as $2,799, patients can receive a single implant and dental crown.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts that resemble small screws. These posts are implanted into your jawbone to replace the entire structure of a missing tooth, from root to crown. We can replace a single missing tooth with a dental implant and crown, or multiple missing teeth with several implants and a dental bridge or full or partial denture. An implant is not required to replace every missing tooth, and an entire row of missing teeth can typically be replaced with as little as six implants. Depending on the health of your jawbone, you may need a bone graft or sinus lift, which can rebuild tissue and improve your eligibility for dental implants.

Each implant post is secured within the jaw, providing a stable foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture.

How are Dental Implants Placed?

Since Dr. Raghian uses a wide range of implant sizes and types, patients can usually avoid bone grafting of sinus lifting, which saves you time and money. To place your implants, Dr. Raghian will create a small pilot hole where he will place the implant. This technique enables you to avoid any major surgery, and since Dr. Raghian utilizes all sizes and types of implants, there is no need for bone grafts or sinus lifts, adding even more convenience to your procedure.

Dr. Raghian is currently offering a special on a single implant and dental crown for as low as $2,799.

Following implant placement, a process called osseointegration takes place. This allows the implants to fuse with your jawbone, creating a stable foundation for a bridge, crown, or denture. Complete healing can take anywhere from four to six months, and Dr. Raghian may place a temporary restoration to wear during this time. In some cases, the final denture, dental bridge, or crown can be delivered in only a few appointments, sometimes as little two to three weeks from your initial procedure.

Determining Your Candidacy

Patients missing one or more teeth, or patients who currently have traditional restorations such as dentures, are typically good candidates for dental implants. Patients who smoke will be advised to stop during the implant placement, osseointegration, and healing period in order to achieve the most optimal healing.

Understanding the Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants are considered the gold standard of restorative dentistry because of the many oral health benefits they offer. With traditional restorations, bone loss can continue, and additional tooth loss can occur. Dental implants preserve the density of the jawbone, preventing further bone and tooth loss. Dental implants can support a variety of strong, durable, and lifelike restorations for a completely natural look.
